SUMMARY:Genomes on GPUs: From Big Data to Fast Results
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\nWhen?\nTueday August 3rd | 2pm – 3pm BST \n  \nAbstract\nFor precision medicine to become routine\, more must be done to understand human genetic variations and how they contribute to diseases and disorders. This requires high-confidence variant catalogues\, comprehensive annotations\, and approaches to genome-wide analytics that drive new understandings in human biology and medicine. Next generation sequencing is enabling this\, producing data at ever-decreasing costs per whole human genome. As the resulting vast datasets become a bottleneck to scientific progress\, there is a growing need for genomes to be transformed from sequencing reads to functional biological information in the order of minutes\, rather than hours and days. \nGPU-based parallel processing of sequencing data is now addressing the myriad bottlenecks that occur across the computational workflow. With performance of up to 60x acceleration for state-of-the-art bioinformatics tools and complete end-to-end workflows in under 25 minutes\, larger sequencing projects are becoming less expensive\, easier to manage\, and generating more useful insights than ever before. \nThis session will provide an overview of how NVIDIA GPUs are directly improving sequencing accuracy\, how Clara Parabricks pipelines deliver high-speed high-throughput secondary analysis\, and how GPUs can be used more broadly to address computational challenges across a multitude of genomics applications. \n  \n  \nRegister\n  Click here to Register   \n \nSpeakers\n \nHarry Clifford | Senior Product Architect Genomics | Nvidia \nPartners\n             \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Demonstrating the Value of AI in Academic Medical Centers and Health Networks
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\nWhen?\nJuly 30th | 11am – 12pm (Eastern USA)   \n  \nAbstract\nRecent technological advances have made machine learning tools more accessible and affordable than ever before. And radiology\, as one-of most data-rich departments in healthcare\, has seen the introduction of an avalanche of AI algorithms in recent months and years. However\, as the number of vendors and algorithms continue to climb\, healthcare providers and radiology departments are challenged to determine which algorithms will have the biggest impact and value for them and\, ultimately\, their patients. Although there are a handful of nascent reimbursement routes\, the majority of AI products require careful construction of value propositions that are highly dependent on the reading environment\, payer demographics and structure of the practice with relation to its referrers. This webinar will focus on the barriers and challenges to recognizing value from AI\, what forms this value may take and crucially how this value can be evaluated and demonstrated within large healthcare facilities.   \n  \nRegister\n  Click here to Register   \n \nSpeakers\nDr Christoph Wald\, MD\, PhD\, MBA\, FACRChair\, Dept of Radiology LHMC\, Professor of Radiology\, TUSM\, Chair Commission on InformaticsAmerican College of RadiologyBen Panter\, PhDCEO and Founder Blackford Analysis\n \nPartner\n   \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:On-Demand: Using AI in the Surgery Suite to Improve Documentation\, Revenue\, and Patient Safety
DESCRIPTION:When\nOn-Demand\n\n \nAbstract\nAppropriate reimbursement\, patient care\, and quality outcomes are based on complete operative reports that capture fully specified procedures and diagnoses. Existing surgical documentation workflows do not provide the logic necessary to meet the latest documentation requirements and require time-consuming retrospective reviews and approvals\, wasting precious surgeon time. Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools are becoming widely used to document complete operative reports that meet the latest documentation requirements immediately after surgery\, ensuring that care teams\, coders\, and other key documentation stakeholders have complete and accurate information immediately without adding time for the surgeon. This process has tremendous benefits to patient care\, accurate and appropriate coding\, wRVU capture\, reimbursement\, and quality metrics.\n\n \nLearning objectives:\n\n Identify the market and regulatory factors increasing the pressure on surgeons to deliver accurate\, timely documentation\n Integrate AI documentation tools in the EHR to improve surgeon workflow\, realize more accurate reimbursement\, and better relect patient care\n Highlight use case on the integration of the solution to improve documentation in surgical procedure notes and operative reports\n\n \nSpeakers\nProf. Shafi Ahmed\, Colorectal Surgeon\, The Royal London and St. Bartholomew’s Hospitals\n\nDr. Lucian Newman\, III\, General Surgeon\, and Nuance CMIO\n\nAlexis May\, Content Director\, AIMed\n\n \nPartners\n\nTo register for free complete the form below\nIf you don’t see the registration form\, your advert blocker may be preventing this from showing. SUMMARY:Accelerating the pace of AI deployment in healthcare
DESCRIPTION:Date and Time:\nThursday\,  March 4th: 10.30am – 11:00am (EST)\nAbstract:\n“We have all this great knowledge that gets developed\, but doesn’t get implemented. It all takes too long and that’s just shameful. Things that could save a life or dramatically improve people’s health sit in a different orbit. It’s so frustrating to see it stay stuck in the research orbit and not helping people.”\n\nEric Topol\n\nThe potential of artificial intelligence to transform healthcare is widely acknowledged. But how do we convert that potential into reality? How do we make this change happen at the systemic or even global level in order to save lives or dramatically improve people’s health\, as Dr Topol stated in a recent interview with AIMed?\n\nIn this exclusive webinar\, Dr Anthony Chang will be joined by some of the executives leading the charge in harnessing the potential of AI to transform healthcare. The panel will highlight the opportunities presented by AI\, as well as the key barriers to deployment\, drawing on direct experience to recommend how healthcare organizations can overcome these.\nSpeakers:\nDr. Anthony ChangFounder AIMed\, Chief Artificial Intelligence OfficerChildren’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) Eric Eskioglu\, MDExecutive Vice President\, Chief Medical and Scientific OfficerNovant HealthMaia Hightower\, MD\, MPH\, MBACEO & Founder;Associate Chief Medical Information Officer & Sr. Director Health Equity\, Diversity\, and InclusionEquality AI ; University of Utah HealthNick Patel\, MDChief Digital OfficerPrisma Health\nTo register for free\, simply submit your details below:

SUMMARY:Behavioral Health: Using AI to predict suicide\, depression and opioid misuse before it happens
DESCRIPTION:Partner:\n \nAbstract: \nThe Covid-19 pandemic isn’t the only public health crisis facing America. According to Accenture\, nearly 58 million adults and 8 million youth between the ages of six and 17 in the U.S. have mental health and/or substance use disorders\, yet only 43% of affected adults are receiving treatment for them. Since the start of COVID\, there has been a significant spike in the use of virtual behavioral health services. While effective for continued support and care\, virtual health services like telehealth\, webchat\, and voice therapy were not designed to catch individuals on the cusp of developing a behavioral health condition. The number of undiagnosed and rapidly deteriorating patients is surely to increase as time passes leaving our health system in yet another predicament. \nJoin Dr Carlo Viamonte\, Medical Officer at Anthem and Dr. John Frownfelter\, Chief Information Officer at Jvion and Karen Murphy\, Executive Vice President and CIO at Geisinger to discuss the need for widespread adoption of clinical AI how AI-driven analysis of relevant risk factors for suicide\, substance abuse or self-harm can save behavioral health providers the guesswork in predicting who is at risk and payers the ability to manage underlying and hidden risks proactively and effectively. Additionally\, AIMED will be sharing the results of a recent industry survey during related to the current state and future of AI investments across payer and provider organizations. \n  \nRegister:\n \nSpeakers:\nDr Carlo Viamonte\, Medical Officer\, Anthem \nDr John Frownfelter\, Chief Information Officer\, JVION \nKaren Murphy\, PhD\, RN\, Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer\, Geisinger \n

SUMMARY:On-Demand: Population health and social inequities
DESCRIPTION:Abstract\n“If we are not careful\, AI will perpetuate the bias in this world. Computers learn how to be racist\, sexist\, and prejudiced in a similar way that a child does. The computers learn from their creator – us.”\nAylin Caliskan\, computer scientist\n\n \n\nThe COVID-19 pandemic and the protests for racial equality rage on unrelentingly as dual forces that are forcing change. There is an underlying irony in that\, even in the pandemic that can be indiscriminately lethal for any human on this planet\, there is a very obvious and disheartening racial disparity in morbidity and mortality.\n\nWhile there is a myriad of ways that artificial intelligence can automate or perpetuate historical discrimination in healthcare\, perhaps there is also a way for artificial intelligence to neutralise this injustice. Although the ethics of algorithms is in its infancy\, there is some existing work in the form of the IEEE P7003 Standard for Algorithmic Bias Considerations that is presently under development as part of the IEEE Global Initiative on Ethics of Autonomous and Intelligent Systems. This effort is aimed at methodologies to eliminate issues of negative bias in the creation of algorithms so that characteristics such as race\, gender\, sexuality\, etc. are protected.\n\nIn this exclusive webinar\, our expert panel discuss the context\, the challenge\, and possible solutions to the bias conundrum\, weighing the roles of machine and human intelligence as well as data science and ethics.\n\nClick here to Watch On-demand\n\n \nSpeakers\nBrooke NewmanDoctorate of Nursing Practice (Learner)Candace Makeda MooreData scientist and medical doctorDr. Anthony ChangFounder AIMed\, Chief Artificial Intelligence OfficerChildren’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) Victor F.
