The winners of this year’s AI Champions Awards have been revealed as part of AIMed’s Global Summit in San Francisco.

They join previous winners including legendary cardiologist Eric Topol, world renowned data scientist Jeremy Howard, and Stanford’s Center for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine and Imaging.

“This is all about recognizing some of the great people and organizations that are helping to drive the agenda for artificial intelligence in healthcare”, said AIMed founder Anthony Chang. “Our award winners have worked tirelessly to deliver some incredible outcomes, and they are fully deserving of the accolades.”

“I’m so honored to be a part of this and to be recognized like this”, said Hamilton Baker, who won the Rising Star Award sponsored by Medscape. “I’ve worked so hard and I feel like being recognized to this degree is … it’s hard to put into words.”

Muhammad Mamdani, accepting the Hospital/Institution of the Year Award sponsored by Lumenix, said:

“The Temerty Center for Artificial Intelligence Research and Education in Medicine (T-CAIREM) at the University of Toronto is extremely honored to receive this very prestigious award. As the first center of its kind in Canada, we champion the development and application of artificial intelligence in medicine both nationally and internationally through world-class initiatives in education, research, and enabling data environments. We share the common goal of enabling artificial intelligence to transform the future of medicine.”

Special Impact Award winner Fatme Charafeddine, who had traveled from Lebanon to attend the AIMed Global Summit, added:

“This really motivates me to keep on with my journey in medical AI, and I’m really happy about that. Thank you.”

“At AIMed, we believe that, through human connections and open-hearted collaboration, AI can fix medicine”, said AIMed CEO Freddy White. “The AI Champions Awards are a highlight of our annual Global Summit: a celebration of the people who are making this real, changing healthcare one connection at a time”
