
Dr. Tom Sanford
Dr Tom Sanford received his medical degree at the University of Hawaii John A Burns School of Medicine and subsequently completed a residency in Urology at the University of California San Francisco. He completed a fellowship in Urologic Oncology at the National Cancer Institute in Washington DC. During fellowship, Dr Sanford served as a lead developer and associate investigator in the development of multiple artificial intelligence systems including a semi-automated PIRADS system. He is now an Assistant Professor at SUNY Upstate Medical Center in the Department of Urology, where he is starting a lab focusing on application of AI systems to improve prognostication for patients with urologic malignancies.
