Bella Zaghi graduated Summa Cum Laude from UCLA with her Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology and continued her studies at UCLA’s Fielding School of Public Health for her Master’s in Public Health (MPH) in Healthcare Management with a specialization in Health Information Technology. While pursuing her degree, she supported the Biostatistics department in research and administration and conducted her internship at UCLA Medical Center in cost accounting building standards and developing the cost accounting system for seven cost centers within UCLA Medical Center.
Bella’s involvement with HIMSS (Health Information and Management Systems Society) began after she attended her first local event. She took on role of Chair for the Academic Alliance Community after she helped chair the Academic Alliance Conference. Under Bella’s direction, the Academic Alliance Conference was the biggest and most successful it has ever been with 526 total registered attendees, 77 webcast registered attendees from 7 states and 242 student attendees. This event resulted in more than 220 new student memberships.
Upon graduation Bella was recognized with Women in Healthcare Administration and HIMSS’s Master Student Award for her academic merit, drive and promise to make a positive difference in Health I.T. and was invited membership into Upsilon Phi Delta Honor Society, a national academic honor society for the top Healthcare Administration students.
Bella’s involvement with SoCal HIMSS has grown over the years. She Chaired the Academic Alliance community, creating a sustainable infrastructure and network to service and outreach to students all over the region. She then served VP of Admin where the Chapter was distinguished as Chapter of Year. On her current role as President, the chapter has tripled the events targeting providers and is kicking off the Women in Health IT branch with the first networking event and symposium.
Bella works at Cedars Sinai Medical Center as a Sr. Data Report/System Analyst where she supports Nursing and Operations with data and reporting quality outcomes for accreditation, regulatory, research, performance improvement and medical staff.
Bella was born and raised in Silicon Valley but now resides in Los Angeles, CA. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, following the news, traveling, and dancing in her free time.
