Dr. Saurabh Gombar

Dr. Saurabh Gombar is the clinical lead on the informatics consult project at Stanford. The informatics consult allows physicians to rapidly generate observational evidence, mined from the EMR, to answer “What happened to patients like mine?” His current research focuses on how to leverage large datasets to improve patient care through empowering clinical decision makers. Dr. Gombar trained in Pathology at Stanford University where he was chief resident as well as the chair of the hospital-wide chief resident’s council. Dr. Gombar received his MD/PhD training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine where he was co-mentored in molecular genetics and systems and computational biology. Prior to a career in medicine, he was a software engineer.
