Drew Clausen, PhD is the lead data scientist at Kaiser Permanente’s Health Innovation department. His team develops predictive tools and AI for clinical use by applying cutting edge machine learning techniques to complex healthcare data. Drew has been with Kaiser Permanente since 2016. Previously, he was a Walter Burke Fellow in Theoretical Astrophysics at Caltech where his research focused on modeling the observational signatures of black holes in dense stellar systems and developing techniques to efficiently search for these signatures in vast astronomical datasets. Drew holds a Ph.D. in Astronomy & Astrophysics from Pennsylvania State University. Before changing his focus to science, Drew went to film school and worked as video editor.
