Scott Joslyn is the Senior Vice President and CIO of MemorialCare, a $2.2 billion integrated health care delivery system with over 220 sites of care. MemorialCare’s operations include 3 adult hospitals, one children’s hospital, 10 freestanding imaging centers, 9 freestanding ambulatory surgery centers, 13 dialysis centers, a medical group, an IPA, and a health plan serving Los Angeles and Orange Counties.
Scott is also a board member of the MemorialCare Innovation Fund, a venture capital fund and separate arm of MemorialCare that has been operating for more than two decades. MemorialCare is a strategic investor that invests in and oversees promising start-up and young companies that develop products and services that are of commercial interest to MemorialCare. As a board member, Scott has functioned as an advisor to portfolio companies. He also oversaw the construction of a technology center where products can be used and tested in an isolated, production-like environment as an important element of evaluation.
Beyond his IT responsibility, Scott oversees MemorialCare’s research function with some 400 currently active studies representing 30 service lines and 25 specialties.
Scott holds a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from the University of the Pacific, and a Master of Business Administration from UCLA. He has taught health care information technology at California State University, Long Beach, and the University of Southern California. He is an active and long-standing member of CHIME, HIMSS, and other industry organizations.
