Dr. Anthony (Tony) Slonim is an American author, physician and the president and CEO of Renown Health, one of the nation’s most innovative and progressive health systems, with more than 7,000 employees and 1,500 physician-providers serving as the regional referral center for 100,000 square miles from Sacramento to Salt Lake City. Dr. Slonim has been leading Renown’s charitable mission since 2014 to make a genuine difference in the community’s health and well-being. Most recently, Dr. Slonim and his team have worked tirelessly to protect their community during the Covid pandemic, integrated the University of Nevada’s (UNR) School of Medicine into Renown Health, and established a Clinically Integrated Network known as the Western Clinical Alliance.  As a strategically motivated, outcomes-oriented, physician- executive, Dr. Slonim has developed a national profile as an expert in patient safety, accountable care, healthcare quality and innovative care delivery models focused on improving health within the community. He is quadruple-board-certified and an academic leader with faculty appointments as Clinical Professor in the Departments of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at UNR’s School of Medicine. Dr. Slonim serves as the inaugural editor-in-chief of the Physician Leadership Journal and was recently appointed to the Board of Trustees of the American Health Association effective from 2022-2024. In 2019, Dr. Slonim was appointed by Governor Steve Sisolak to serve on the Patient Protection Commission. That same year, he was also named one of Becker’s Hospital Review’s 105 Physician Leaders to Know and was #37 on Modern Healthcare’s list of Most Influential Clinical Executives, which he was again honored with in 2021. Dr. Slonim is a proven innovator with a passion for improving the quality of healthcare delivery through a data-informed approach that ultimately advances the health and well-being of diverse communities.
