
Gursimran S Kochhar, MD, FACP, is a gastroenterologist and is the Associate Division Chief of the Department of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at Allegheny Health Network, Pittsburgh, PA. He is the medical director of endoscopic innovations. He specializes in interventional inflammatory bowel disease and Advanced therapeutic procedures. He completed his training in Internal medicine from Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, Oh. He subsequently went to receive training in Nutrition. He finished a Gastroenterology & Hepatology fellowship from the same institution, focusing on his training in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD). Dr. Kochhar then completed his Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship from Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, FL.
Dr. Kochhar has been at the forefront of managing IBD disease and its complications with various advanced endoscopic procedures. His innovative research on endoscopic management of Inflammatory Bowel Disease has been successfully published in leading Gastroenterology Journals, including Gastroenterology, Clinical Gastroenterology & Hepatology Gastrointestinal Endoscopy journal. He has over 65 publications, including peer-reviewed articles, book chapters. He serves on the Editorial Board of Inflammatory Bowel Disease Journal and Associate Editor of American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy IBD journal scan. His current research focuses on endoscopic management of IBD disease complications, artificial intelligence in health care, and newer endoscopic innovations.
