Senior Research Developer – Machine Learning

Muhammad Omer is a Senior Research Developer – Machine Learning at Circle Cardiovascular Imaging Inc., Canada. His research is focused on developing automated solutions for Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (CMR) imaging protocols. His contributions are in the areas of AI based cardiac function analysis, myocardial strain imaging, 2D flow quantification, and blood oxygen level dependence (BOLD) imaging. Omer has also been involved with and leading some of our research collaborations with multiple sites, including QMUL, UMainz, and NWU. Through these collaborations Omer has been developing technologies to support clinicians conduct their studies, in addition to validating our AI solutions on clinical data. Prior to joining Circle, Omer completed his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Calgary, where he researched and developed multimodality imaging involving microwaves and ultrasound for breast cancer imaging. He is also a recipient of some of the prestigious federal and provincial awards including the Vanier CGS, Izaak Walton Killam, and Alberta Innovates Technology Futures.
