Parvaneh Saeedi received her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, Canada, in 1998 and 2004. From 2004 to 2006, she was a Research Associate with MacDonald Detwiller and Associates Ltd. In 2007, she joined the School of Engineering Science at Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, BC, Canada, where she is an Associate Professor. Her research interests are in the field of signal processing which is the science behind our digital life and its applications, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, pattern recognition, and machine vision. She is currently the Associate Dean, Research and Graduate Studies at the Faculty of Applied Sciences at Simon Fraser University.
