Max R. Langham, Jr
Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics at University of Tennessee Health Science Center

Max R. Langham, Jr. is a Pediatric Surgeon in Memphis Tennessee.  He obtained his undergraduate education at the University of Florida with an interdisciplinary major in Mathematics and Physics.  He graduated from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and did his surgical training at the Virginia Commonwealth University and St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and the Temple University School of Medicine.  After serving on the faculty of the University of Florida for 16 years he was recruited to the University of Tennessee Health Science Center as a Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics, where he now serves as Vice Chairman of the Department of Surgery.  His research interests include liver tumors in children, surgical outcomes, and patient safety.  He is married to Sue Langham who he met as a sophomore at  UF.  They have 3 children and 2 grandchildren.
